Before you resign

How resigning affects your end-of-service award.

Under Article 85 of the Saudi Labor Law, resigning reduces your end-of-service award: nothing under two years of service, one third for two to five years, two thirds for five to ten years, and the full award after ten years. Check the amount first with the Saudi end-of-service calculator (بالعربي) — waiting until you pass a threshold can make a real difference.

Notice period: check your contract first; it can set a longer period than the legal minimum. Keep a dated copy of your letter or the email you sent, and confirm your final settlement and Iqama transfer or exit steps with HR. Then update your CV with the Saudi CV format and free template.

This page is general guidance. Your contract and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) are the authoritative sources.
