Subject: Resignation — request to shorten notice period
Dear [Manager's name],
Please accept my resignation from my position as [job title]. My contractual notice period would end on [date]; however, I would like to ask whether we could agree an earlier last working day of [date]. I am happy to work with the team on a handover plan so that nothing is left incomplete.
I understand that any change to the notice period needs your agreement in writing, and I will follow the contract if that is not possible.
Thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards,
